Feel free to use this image however you like. The Retch's suggestions include as a screensaver, a coffee mug design or, a personal favorite, as a massive, 200-foot high banner hung from the side of Times Mirror square.
Update: The LA Times just posted its obit on Ken. The obit says Ken's blog "advocated returning The Times to local ownership."
That's kind of like saying that Edward Abbey was not fond of developers. Ken despised what Sam Zell was doing to the LA Times. He said so repeatedly and forcefully. That his old newspaper cannot describe Ken's position forthrightly and clearly is a sad commentary on the Times' current commitment to truth telling. What editor allowed such euphemism in its coverage of one of the paper's stalwart supporters?

Sorry to hear of the passing of Ken Retch, a long time LA Times reporter.
Related to the Social Security Offset on Tribune employees' pensions or possibly only LA Times' employees' pensions.
As a former Hartford Courant staff reporter, I naturally became concerned about Ken Retch's representations concerning what the Tribune is or was allegedly doing to subtract from employees' pension monies by figuring out how much The Tribune paid into Social Security for each of those employees over all the years of their employment. That Social Security sum, equaling one half of what was paid into Social Security by The Tribune(with the employee paying the other half) would allegedly entitle The Tribune to repayment or compensation. Mr. Retch called it "Social Security offset." I spoke with Patrick, a Hewitt benefit representative, today. He looked up my records and said that did not happen to me, a 39 1/2 year veteran of The Courant who retired in November 2005. He said he is sending me the records to prove his point. I gave him the Internet address on Tell Zell in which Mr. Retch discussed the alleged "Social Security offset."
Put the logo up on CafePress.com so we can order mugs, T-shirts, bags, etc.
Retch,
What a great tribute to Ken Reich, may create a few t-shirts with our Café Press site and see what type of reaction we get from our colleagues.
Would really enjoy unfolding a banner on the side of the Times Olympic Facility, over half a million drivers commute by our building on the Santa Monica Freeway daily, what a sight that would make.
